Hamilton Medical Center: "My wife has severe liver problems and has been in and out of the hospital many times over the last 10 months. I just took her to the er at Hamilton Medical Center and because of the Coronavirus I wasn't allowed to stay. I already knew this as this is our fourth time here since the virus started. I was told they would call and update me. Two hours later I still had heard nothing so called, but the call was sent to my wife's room. I called back and ask to speak to the nurse and to please not ring the room because my wife had to get up to answer the phone, and she can barely walk. The call was sent to the room again!! I immediatly made another call and was obviously frustrated but I finally got the nurse. She said that she had to get permission from my wife to talk to me, but she would call me back. (My wife gave permission to speak with me when I dropped her off) One hour later and still no call, so I drive back to the er. Two ladies came out and got my name and number (for the third time) and said the nurse is in someone else's room and would call me as soon as she left that room. That has now been over an hour ago. My wife has lost almost 70lbs since this began last June and is getting weaker and weaker. I never know what each er visit will bring and tonights experience is unacceptable.
Update,
I never received a call so I called back and was told she was being discharged and I could pick her up. When I picked her up she was so confused (because of her ammonia level) she didn't know or couldn't explain anything that happened while she was in the er. About an hour later she had gotten worse so we had to go back to the er. Before I left that assured me it wouldn't happen again and that they would call with updates. It is now roughly 5 hours later and nothing. I just called and was transferred upstairs to a nurse that could only tell me she was admitted. " - Lee
